• From Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0: overview of the evolution from Industry 1.0 to Industry 4.0; explanation of the link between Industry 4.0 and Lean

Activity 2: Industry 4.0

• The concept of Industry 4.0 and how it is transforming industries
• Key technologies of Industry 4.0: IoT, Cloud Computing, Big Data, Digital Twins, IA, AR/VR, 3D Impression, Cybersecurity
• The industrial data journey and how it is collected along the value chain

Activity 3: Discovery of Modeling

• The modeling: What is it and why?
   • Define the modeling, simulation, optimization and illustrate these concepts with examples from BioProduction
   • Identify the main types of models
• How to build a model: the case of cell culture: steps, examples
